Everyone coming through the finish line of the Eugene Marathon received a silver space blanket. I also saw this at the Portland Marathon. I'm sure this is common in most marathons.
It sure would be a nice thing to do, IF you don't want to keep your space blanket, to give it to your nearest homeless shelter so it could be recycled and help someone in great need.
