Volkswalk

Volkswalk is an international walking organization that started in Germany. It has events that are 5K to marathon length. There are also year-around routes that you can do any time you want in almost every city. I have completed about 17 Volkswalks but haven't participated in several years. They are fun and the best part is that you see the best spots in every city when you go on one. It seems like they pick the best and most scenic routes to showcase the city where you are at. It's always a good choice to go on a Volkswalk. It's always a healthy choice.

You can find out more at ava.org.

There is a Volkswalk coming up in Bothell, Washington close to me on June 1 but I have to work so I can't go. It's a 6K or a 10K. Start times are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at QFC, 14130 Juanita Dr. NE in Bothell. This walk is hosted by the Interlaken Trailblazers Volkssport Club. www.interlakentrailblazers.org.

Another one coming up close to me is in Shoreline on June 22 called the Puget Sound Beach Walk hosted by Sound Steppers Volkssport Club. www.soundsteppers.org This is a 12K walk. Start time is 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Shoreview Park and Boeing Creek at 700 NW Innis Arden Way.

Subscribe to the Northwest Pathfinder for event information for Washington and Oregon events with 6 issues a year. It's only $12.
